​​Position Summary

Demonstrate the competencies and behaviors needed to improve student preparedness and mastery and to support the core values, vision, and mission of Al-Hadi School. This teaching position is for Elementary School. Under the direction of the principal, the teacher is assigned to teach students by providing students an education based upon academic excellence and excellent moral/ethical values.

​​Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning.

  • Texas teaching license certification

  • Strong oral and written communication skills are required.

  • Experience teaching elementary students.

  • Native-like fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.

​​Responsibilities and Duties

  • Follow all rules, policies, and procedures of Al-Hadi School of Accelerative Learning, keeping in mind the school’s vision and mission.

  • Proven ability to motivate students.

  • Meets all professional responsibilities.

  • Maintains and upgrades professional skills.

  • Maintains professional work habits.

  • Promotes and maintains positive pupil-teacher-parent relationships.

  • Adheres to the teacher code of conduct as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

  • Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity, interest, and abilities of students.

  • Guides the learning process toward the achievement of established curriculum goals and establishes and communicates clear objectives to the students for all lessons, units, and projects.

  • Assesses students' accomplishments regularly, provides progress reports as required, and communicates with parents as directed by the principal.

  • Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records.

  • Develops a code of conduct for the classroom that is consistent with established administrative policies and develops rules of classroom behavior enforced fairly and justly.

  • Employs various instructional techniques and teaching strategies to meet students’ different aptitudes and interests, including current technology and whole-group/small-group learning.

  • Prepares for classes and shows written evidence (lesson plans) of preparation upon immediate supervisor request.

  • Create lesson plans aligned with current state standards, which drive instruction through formative assessment and differentiation.

  • Seeks support when concern regarding student progress arises.

  • Provides age-appropriate communication with students on instructional expectations and keeps them informed of their progress in meeting those expectations.

  • Manages classroom learning time to maximize student achievement.

  • Ensures the classroom and/or instructional environment is attractive, healthful, safe, and conducive to learning and that materials are in good condition and accessible to students.

  • Participates in in-service and staff development activities and staff meetings as required or assigned.

  • Attends established traditional school-sponsored activities (i.e., graduation, open house, and other activities customarily attended by classroom teachers and/or faculty members.)

  • Establishes partnerships with the community as appropriate in support of the academic program.
