PROGRAM DETAILS

Duration:
November through May (weather permitting)

Grade Levels Served:
Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade

Program Overview:
During the Outdoor Enrichment Program (OEP), students actively participate in a rotation of four engaging, hands-on learning modules - the garden, the sandbox, storytelling/theater, and structured games. Each module is designed to support social, emotional, and physical development while helping students explore their creativity and curiosity in an outdoor setting.

Supervision & Coordination:
Each module is led by a dedicated coordinator who plans, prepares, and facilitates activities. Homeroom teachers and classroom assistants play an essential role in supporting the program and are present with students throughout all outdoor sessions.

Materials & Supplies:
All necessary materials, tools, and supplies for OEP activities are fully provided by the school.

MODULES DESCRIPTION

  1. SANDBOX EXPLORATION - Dig, build, create, and discover!

Centered around outdoor sandboxes, this sensory-rich module encourages hands-on experimentation and imaginative construction. Children explore textures, build structures, and design their own mini–worlds using sand and natural materials such as stones, twigs, leaves, and water. This open-ended play fosters creativity, fine motor skills, spatial reasoning, and scientific curiosity.

  1. STRUCTURED GAMES - Reach higher, move stronger, and work together!

This module immerses children in high‑energy, collaborative games designed to build teamwork, leadership, problem‑solving, and good sportsmanship. Through fun physical challenges, strategy-based activities, and movement-focused play, participants learn how to communicate, support one another, and push their personal limits in a positive and encouraging environment.

  1. STORYTELLING ENCLAVE - Where imagination comes alive!

Children step into an immersive world of imagination, characters, and creativity. This module blends interactive Storytime, puppetry, dramatic play, and performance arts to nurture communication skills and creative expression. Participants become storytellers and performers as they explore tales, enact scenes, and bring stories to life through movement, voice, and imagination.

4. GARDENING - Grow curiosity from the ground up!

Cultivate a love for nature through activities such as identifying plants and animals, caring for a garden, understanding plant growth etc.
In this nature-focused module, children learn to observe, care for, and understand the living world around them. Through activities like identifying plants and insects, tending to a communal garden, studying plant life cycles participants develop environmental awareness, responsibility, and a lasting appreciation for nature.

We encourage you to support your child's outdoor learning experiences by asking about their adventures and encouraging their curiosity. We are confident that this outdoor learning experience will be both fun and educational for your child.
