Principal Update - 08-04-2020

Assalamo Alaikom, Dear Lion Parents!

InshaAllah you and your families are doing well and staying safe. Congratulations to the Imam of the Age (ajtf) and all of you on the eve of the birth of the personality, Imam Hadi (as), who is the namesake of our beloved Al-Hadi school. May our hearts always be open to the guidance that leads us towards our Creator, inshaAllah.

I wanted to also take a moment to share in solidarity and prayer for our many Lebanese Al-Hadi family members. The pain and devastation that has affected our numerous families is surely felt by us all. We pray that the souls of the departed be enveloped in Divine Mercy and may the injured individuals be granted a full, speedy recovery, inshaAllah.

Please read below for this week's updates:

The Al-Hadi preschool re-opened yesterday, Monday, and we have had two full days of excitement as the students have returned. Despite wearing masks, face shields, and gloves, the preschool teachers' affection has emanated towards our returning (and new) students! We can't wait to safely welcome back our K-12 students who will be with us either in-person or online in a week's time. Students have enrolled both in our in-person program as well as in the Homeschool Plus so parents can benefit whichever is convenient for them.

We have updated our Quickschool system to reflect the updated student IDs we will be using. If you log in to your child's portal, you will find the unique ID in the form of AHSxxxxx where x represents a digit. Knowing this five-digit ID is critical to being able to log in to Clever. Our IT team has been working diligently behind the scenes to ensure all is set and all the troubleshooting is done to make the experience optimal for your child as the user.

With the return of teachers to school, we expect the Clever teacher pages to be finalized very soon. The specific online orientation events for elementary, middle and high school will also be conducted for parents on Saturday and Sunday. Invitations (links) to these events will be sent out by mid day, Thursday, 8/6.

A few days ago, the grade-specific schedules were sent out to you. These schedules may be subject to some changes in shifting of certain classes, but we expect the changes to be minimal, if any. Please find the grade-specific schedules attached to this email. Additionally, you can find the tentative PE schedule for our outdoor, socially-distanced fitness and recreation sessions. Based on our webinar polls, over 80% of the parents in attendance mentioned they would be likely or somewhat likely to bring their child to participate in small-group outdoor recreation. Parents would be welcome to also participate or use the walking track around the soccer field.

Parents of students attending in-person classes: You can expect a brief poll within the next day that will ask you if you plan to send lunch with your child to school or if you plan to purchase lunch. This information will be critical for our planning purposes.

Books and supplies (for those parents who ordered them from us) are ready for pick-up on Monday, 8/10, between 2-5pm. The books and supplies will be picked up in a drive-through format. The bags will be brought up to your car when you pull up next to the gym entrance by the curb. Logistical details will be sent with the next communication.

Thank you for your continued support and patience.

Ma'asalaam.
